We have all heard the saying "Give until it hurts"...most of us know that real giving feels good doesn't it? We all have an opportunity right now to help those more unfortunate than most of us in America. If you listen to the radio, watch TV or read the news in the paper or on the internet, we are all aware of the dire need for our help in Haiti. This is an extreme tragedy totally out of anyone’s control. We are all powerless over the destruction that has occurred to the poor people in Haiti.
We can keep them in our prayers and when and if possible send them any financial support possible.
This is so heart warming:
One of my ministries at my parish St Michael in Sharonville is serving as an usher at 11:30 mass each Sunday. As usher I am responsible to help take up the collection. After mass a few of us gather in the sacristy and organize the collection, put it in the assigned packets and then into the safe. Yesterday we had a second collection to be sent to the folks in Haiti through Catholic services. Among all the $20's, $10's, hundreds of $1's & $5's and checks for everything from $10 up to several hundreds surfaced this most heart warming donation.
This envelope was full of coins. This child obviously emptied her piggy bank and brought it to church for the second collection. How innocent and giving was this gesture from such a small child. She even wrote a note on the envelope "Sorry about your house". She must have heard they lost their homes.
It is moments like this that makes you think. Makes you want to cry. Makes you want to smile. Makes you want to hug somebody and pray that the hurt goes away.
God Bless You and pray for all of our troops to come home safe and for our Country leaders to make the right choices to help us get through this turmoil.

It is Christmas Eve. Three days after the shortest day (the first day of Winter) and the longest night of the year. This is the day many of us celebrate the birthday of Jesus. The Rossignol family will be attending midnight mass at our parish St Michaels. It is our tradition each year. Then we all come home and exchange presents.
This year we are going to drink hot chocolate and watch a movie. The gift exchanging will happen tomorrow when everyone is here.
Here are a few photos of neighbor homes decorated for Christmas.

Fridays are for fun and this post is about the fun I had at our family reunion last Sunday. This really has nothing to do with real estate. It has a lot to do with family values. It is primarily for my family on my wife's side. But you can all follow along if you like. Family values and real estate values can follow some if the same principals..
This past Sunday on August 9th my wife Mary Jo's family the McCarthy clan held the annual family reunion. This was the 2nd year to have it in Blue Ash in the park behind the community center on Cooper Rd just off Reed Hartman Highway. Almost everyone was in attendance including a few favorite boyfriends (Judd & Matt) and a couple of family pets. And most importantly the latest member of the clan...little Alex.
Last year I totally forgot to get copies of the family portrait to everyone. So this year lets see who reads my blog. I will still try to make copies and distribute them but this way everyone will have a chance to see it without having to wait a whole year. Not a bad looking group.
We really have fun at our reunion. Each year a different branch of the family is in charge of entertainment. They are to provide the games to play. Of course we always have the traditional corn hole tournament. Last year however we veered away from tradition and tried Hillbilly golf. We all had plenty of food. Everyone is responsible for their main course and this year everyone brought a dish to put on the share table. That was good.
So to make this real simple. Just call me or send me an email with how many of which family photos you would like. I promise sometime before next years reunion to make you copies and send them to you.
Keep reading my blog. I may even post a family album of some of the goings on that happened throughout the day. You know me...I always have my Nikon D70 in hand.
God Bless You and pray for all of our troops to come home safe and for our Country leaders to make the right choices to help us get through this turmoil.

I have lived in West Chester for over 30 years and have seen many changes. One of my favorite updates to the neighborhood was the construction and opening of the Voice of America Shopping Center in 2004.
It is located at the corner of Tylersville and Cox Roads. Now I don't have to travel to Tri County, Mason or Kenwood to buy my office supplies at Office Depot. The rest of my family enjoys the convenience of shopping at Target, Bath & Body Works, TJ Max, Dressbarn, Famous Footwear, Petsmart, Michael's and many more stores and shops.
Another reason I frequent the Voice of America Shopping Center is for all the restaurants. There are many. Everything from Longhorn Steakhouse, Chipotle, Panera Bread, Chick-Fil-A, Ruby Tuesdays, Soho Japanese Bistro, Bonefish Grill, CiCi's Pizza and one of my favorites City Barbeque.
Across the street are my favorite banks, Verizon Wireless, many other restaurants and Graeters Ice Cream. There is no need to leave West Chester now.
God Bless You and pray for all of our troops to come home safe and for our Country leaders to make the right choices to help us get through this turmoil.

Our daughter Jennifer Renee Rossignol graduated from the Columbus College of Art and Design on May 16th 2009. Her mother and I are very proud of her. She stayed in Columbus last week to finish working at her intern job while she attended college.
This past Saturday Mary Jo, her two brothers Greg and Don and I went back to Columbus to gather all her worldly possessions and bring her back home. We rented a 17 foot U-Haul truck and Jen was worried it wasn't going to be large enough for all her STUFF.
Here is what Jen left behind after 4 years of college: She left many fond memories. She left many friends...who also left Columbus to find their new lives in other cities. She left a city she grew to love and sometimes not love very much in the past four years.
She left co-workers at the advertising company she was interning at. She left a possible career in advertising that may or may not become her new future. She is hoping for a career in package design.
She left painted over murals on her bedroom walls. She left a TV that would buzz after on for 15 - 20 minutes. She left the remote control for that TV. She left a large very comfy white leather corner sofa, with ends torn up by their cats, but many great memories.
She left teachers and professors that taught her how to find her way in life using her God given talents and skills. She left the comfort of what she was going to do the next day to the unknown of her new future.
She left an apartment where she kept all her stuff for her small room back home and her moms side of the garage where all her stuff is kept for now, and almost got very wet in the down pouring rain.
She left one of her very best friend Ashley and Ashley's cat Pongo who moved back home to Florida. She left her other very best friend Amanda who also moved back home to Florida.
She left behind many fun parties she had in her apartment. She left her distant relationship with her younger sister, now back together under the same roof. She left her freedom to come and go as she pleases being under the watchful eyes of her mother and father.
She left behind the little girl and came home to West Chester a grown woman, ready to find her way in this world. She left the comfort of school environment and now ready to join the forces of the real world and find exactly who Jennifer is.
Oh...She left behind her two one armed mannequins setting on that large leather corner sofa. No real use for the mannequins and the sofa was tore up...therefor they all went to the trash, or maybe they were rescued by someone looking for FREE stuff.
Jennifer left a large piece of her life last Saturday. Not just stuff! She spent four years, 20% of her life in Columbus attending college and now that is only memories. Good, happy, fond memories.
But she has come away with so much more. She has something many people hope to achieve during their lifetime. The chance for a diploma, and at a brand new life using her skills to make a difference in our world. We haven't left our grown children much of a chance to make good with the world the way it is today.
These young people will need all the help they can get to change the world and make it a happy fun place to live. We need to stand behind them and continue to help them and trust them to make this world the best place to live.
We are confident Jennifer will do well and make a difference. None of our children have ever disappointed us. We are proud of them all. They have and continue to make a difference. In their own lives and all those around them.
God Bless You and pray for all of our troops to come home safe and for our Country leaders to make the right choices to help us get through this turmoil.

Saturday May 16, 2009 was an exciting day in the lives of the Rossignol family. Especially for my 22 year old daughter Jennifer. She graduated from Columbus College of Art and Design (CCAD). Jennifer called me on the phone last Friday and said "Dad, I just walk out of school for the last time". I asked her how she felt about it and she said she was sad and happy all at the same time.
Columbus Collage of Art & Designfounded in 1879 is a private, four-year degree-granting institution of higher education. CCAD is a recognized leader in visual arts education with major areas of study in advertising and graphic design, animation, fashion design, fine arts, illustration, industrial design, interior design, media studies and photographyaphy. CCAD is one of the largest private art colleges in the country with 1,400 students form more than 40 states and 30 countries.
The commencement was held at Ohio Theatre that was designed by Scottish-born Thomas White Lamb in 1927. Lamb also deigned the original Madison Square Garden, the Albee in Cincinnati and the Palace in Columbus as well as many other theaters around the world. In 1978, the Ohio Theatre was declared a National Historic Landmark, placed on the National Register of Historic Places and named the "Official Theatre for the State of Ohio."
Jennifer Renee graduated with a major in Advertising & Graphic Design. She finished with a 3.4 GPA (all A's and one B).
The photo on the left is Jennifer accepting her diploma and the photo on the right is Jennifer in the middle, her older sister Aimee on the left and Stephanie her younger sister on the right.
Then we all went out to eat at PF Chang's at the Easton Mall and that ended our little trip to Columbus.
What is Jennifer going to do now? Well, we are going back to Columbus to gather all her worldly possessions and moving her back home in West Chester. She is applying and interviewing with several companies. Jennifer is very talented and focused and I am sure she will land a decent job, hopefully in the Cincinnati area in packaging design of some sort. That is what she wants to do.
So if anyone is looking for a career oriented young lady that is very talented in design please contact me.

Kites were flying high last Sunday at Kite Fest in West Chester, Ohio
This is the Chicago Kite Team. They were the headliners at the Kite Fest at VOA park in West Chester on Sunday April 6, 2008. It was amazing how they maneuvered their kites to dance across the sky with the music.
This was a family day for the Rossignol's. We started out at Miami University to participate in the 5K walk/run for the Joey Eger Memorial Scholarship fund that started at 2:00 pm. It was a beautiful day. Mary Jo and I walked the 3.1 miles in 60 minutes. Our daughters Jen & Steph ran it in 36 minutes. There was quite a bit of scenery along the way.
Then we went to the Kite Fest at VOA Park in West Chester. It was the first time to attend this event. WOW...that was really exciting. So many different kites and what a show. There were a lot of people with and without kites. Some brought there pets.
Then it was back home and back to plan my next day of work. So people often ask..."You work all the time don't you?" The answer is NO! We do take time off to be with family and friends. I like to play music in my band BlueStone Ivory and the West Chester Symphony Orchestra. We like to visit with our grandson and granddaughter. To go and watch them play soccer or most recently watch Brianna in a play she was in.
Mary and I are planning to go on a 4 day cruise and spend 4 days in Miami Florida later this year. So the answer is NO we don't work all the time...Just a lot of the time.
God bless you and pray for our troops.
