Many people become very close to their pets. Others don't have pets and many can't have them do to allergies and such. Well this Friday I had fun with my camera and our old Cat Muffin.
.
Muffin is about 14 years old. His days are numbered due to the mass the vet says is growing inside of him. But he is still the sweet Muffin we have all grown to love through the years. He is loosing weight, has an insatiable appetite and showing signs of accelerated weakness in his overall movement and getting around.
Fridays are fun and so I got the camera out and took these photos of Muff acting silly.
He was eating something rather foamy and some stuck on his nose and chin. Funny Muff!
He still loves to pose for the camera and I like shooting photos of my pets.
I am doing this post for my daughters who absolutely love Muffin. I remember the day they brought him home and told me the story of how they picked Muffin from the litter out of a laundry basket at the grocery store from a little girl that asked if they wanted a free cat. She couldn't keep them and had to get rid of them. So they picked Muffin because he was the quietest one of the litter.
One day we couldn't find Muffin for several hours. Mary Jo, Jen, Steph and Aimee looked high and low for him. Then Jen remembered, she had put him in one of her drawers in her room. Sure enough there he was. Patiently waiting for someone to rescue him. He has been dropped down the laundry chute, dressed up in many different baby and doll clothes and had to learn to share the responsibility's as the house pet with several of our other pets throughout the years.
I remember when we brought Mandy our black lab puppy home before Christmas just two years after we met Muffin. That must have been traumatic to Muffy. Having to share the limelight with the D O G. Several years later Aimee our oldest brought her cat Nala home for us to keep for just a few days...well that turned into the rest of Nala's life. She got very sick and we had put her down.
The family had grown so accustomed to 3 pets in the house we needed to replace Nala with another kitten. Then we got Kitty. What a trip she is.
Through all the changes of characters in our home, Muffin has always maintained his composer but stood his own ground. He was always kind to our families and friends. Never scared to mingle. Enjoyed attention and was always very quiet. He never Meowed or whined until recently. Old age has set in on Muff and we are just trying to make him comfortable. As he grows weaker we will need to make a decision.
If you have pets in your house I'm sure you love them as we do ours. But if you are planning to put your home on the market, I suggest you find a way to not have your pets around if at all possible. As you can see I am a pet person and I love them alot. But, some people are either scared of dogs and cats or they are deathly allergic. That doesn't work when you are trying to sell your house. Your other choice is to just let everyone know this is a pet friendly home. We will let everyone be aware of what kind of pet is living there. If they are allergic they will decide to consider your home or not. That will be the price you will need to pay to keep your pets around while on the market.
God Bless You and pray for all of our troops to come home safe and for our Country leaders to make the right choices to help us get through this turmoil.
