This is our final day in West Palm Beach. I must say...if I were going to move to anywhere in the USA other than Cincinnati, West Palm Beach would be at the top of my list. It is amazingly beautiful, clean, quiet, peaceful and full of history.
It is Sunday and Mary Jo and I usually attend Mass. We love visiting churches from out of town. The music just isn't as nice anywhere else but at St Michaels back home, but this church wasn't bad. St Paul of the Cross in North Palm Beach.
I wore shorts and a pull over top thinking I would fit in with the locals at church...WRONG! Many of the men were wearing suits and ties and the ladies were wearing dresses. They could really tell were were tourists.
We were checked out of our condo at the resort and ready to head south back to Miami Florida to meet up with the other 16 members in our group taking the voyage on the cruise ship Imagination in the Carnival fleet. We were taking off tomorrow for Key West and then to Cozumel Mexico. The whole cruise was to take four days and four nights at sea. WOW!
I wanted to take our time and drive down A1A all the way. We lasted about 3 hours and then I got tired of the stop and go traffic though all the little cities and towns along the coast. It was time to jump on I-95 and cut the traveling short. But we got to see some beautiful scenery along the way.
The beach activities were especially enjoyable to watch. We saw several kite flyers along the way. We stopped to enjoy some of the beaches along the way. We stopped to eat at a SubWay in a very small town.
We then headed on to Miami to turn in our rental car and end up at the Embassy Suites for the night. The next day would be our bon voyage for four days at sea.
The photos above are of our group greeting us for the first time on the trip. Mary Jo and I were looking down from the fifth floor balcany next to the elevator. The next photo is of our group posing during the Happy Hour at the Embasy Suites...free hors d'oeuvres and drinks for two hours. The last photo is of Mary Jo with an international Soccer star. We don't know his name or the team he plays on. I don't know much about soccer. His team that was in the finalist were staying at the hotel also. That is pretty cool!
God Bless You and pray for our troops to come home safe and for our Country leaders to make the right choices to help us get through this turmoil.
